About Aaron.
Aaron Stoller finds humor in even the most seemingly ordinary encounters. Born and raised in St. Louis, he studied TV and film at the University of Missouri, but his real education came at MTV’s on-air promo department, where he worked for ten years after college. Given unrestricted freedom to experiment, he created hundreds of spots for the channel, honing his skills and distinct style along the way.
From MTV, Aaron jumped over to the commercial world, making his mark with fresh perspectives and impeccable comedic timing for leading brands. He has become a go-to director for spots with celebrity talent and has worked with everyone from Tom Cruise to both Peyton and Eli Manning to deliver outstanding performances while putting the whole set at ease. Aaron’s recent work includes directing Martin Short in “Short Day at Work” for Wealthsimple, and Keegan-Michael Key alongside a slew of football superstars for the NFL. In 2023 he added two more spots to his impressive Super Bowl résumé: Samuel Adams’ “A Brighter Boston” with the familiar ‘Cousin from Boston’ character and Downy Unstopables’ “Call Me Downy McBride” with Danny McBride. Over the years, his work has been recognized with honors from Cannes Lions, The One Show, Clios, D&AD, AICP, and more.
Aaron is based in Los Angeles with his wife and four sons. When he’s not on set, he can be found golfing or gambling (or on a good day, both).
